I really enjoyed listening tho your message online. Great and helpful stuff! Thank you. However (I hope you don’t mind a “however”), your “give me a break” segment reminded me exactly of the mood & tone of the people you were complaining about! i.e. their absolute certainty about “matters of opinion” (here it was women speaking in church). in this case, I’m on your side. but your tone suggested that only a backward or mean person would think otherwise. Is sarcasm fitting here? These issues are not simple; good hearted, intelligent people will come to different conclusions. I think pastors should help us think these things through lovingly and not lead us to haughty condescension toward those we feel to be in error. ref. 1 Cor. 8:2 Blessings.
Thanks for your reply…no haughty condescension intended … the point would be read what the Word has to say … in context … what the author (Paul) has to say about it elsewhere … and what he does not say … and come to your conclusion.
