plantFor almost 3 months now, the lifestyle change to a plant-based diet has worked out well.  Several notes about this … just by way of an update …

  • Down 15+ pounds
  • Feeling better overall
  • Back to the gym again … cardio and weight-lifting
  • Not missing some of the food I thought I would miss
  • Have eaten vegetables I never ate before … and some I never heard of before!
  • Discovering creative ways to eat out while traveling.
  • Enjoying The Veggie House in Rockwall, TX each time we pass through.
  • A new place in Texarkana soon to open that will feature vegan food (Jeffica’s).
  • Even though we have given up on meat and dairy … a few “cheats.” have taken place … a bit of cheese on a pizza … and shrimp curry!
  • We have given food away to family and friends … meat, cheeses, etc.  The fridge looks bare at times!
  • Really have come to love almond milk (especially on my oatmeal and raisin bran).
  • A grande soy mocha with no whip from Starbucks is not bad at all!
  • Forks over Knives is a must-watch, along with Engine 2 Diet.
  • And, of course, thankful that an occasional beer is plant-based!
