With a little bit of traveling my weekend routine got re-arranged.  Sunday night was spent in Bedford, TX where we had lasagna!  Fortunately I had frequented an adult beverage store prior and picked up a Rahr product I had not tried before … Bucking Bock!

According to their website it is “a traditional German Spring Bock Beer – golden in color and mildly hopped. Kick’n in at 7.5% alcohol, it has a smooth malty character that will surely thaw you out after a long cold winter. Spring is here and so is Rahr’s Bucking Bock!”

All I can add is this … I have yet to find a brew that Rahr & Sons makes that I do not like.  Now all I need to do is make a pilgrimage to Ft. Worth for one of their Saturday brew tours!

Back home, and after an evening meeting, pizza was served, and with this I took bottle #1 from the family of beers brewed by another Texas brewery … Real Ale in Blanco, TX.  Pick #1 was Brewhouse Brown Ale: a caramel brown with a hint of chocolate,  it melds four kinds of malt and American hops into a delicious dark ale. Rich and roasty, yet with a dry.

This was a very enjoyable beverage … think I may have found another gathering of suds from a good Texas company … especially the Mysterium Verum!
